My Chosen Photographer - Martha Cooper

I decided to choose Martha Cooper because I saw her as an inspiration to my photographs in terms of her representation of graffiti and its importance in the world of art. This is why I see her as important due to the fact that I am really interested in street art and the way that it is portrayed in society because a lot of people see it as not being art. Martha Cooper shows the importance of it.

The photographs create wonderful depth and I incorporated this into my graffiti photographs.I wanted to portray the colour of the street art against the coldness of the concrete by making the graffiti colour and the rest black and white. This technique works well and speaks of the influence and need for more art to liven up our often bleak urban world.
